Star Trek - The Old and New

Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner vs Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine
Well, i have a confession to make. Despite being a newborn Trekkie, i must admit the Original one was somewhat better. Downloading the 1966's Original Series[yes imma freak] and watching it every other day soon became my latest obsession. One thing's for sure, i know its unfair that the new crew had only 139minutes of screening while the old seniors had 3 whole seasons summing up to who knows how many minutes, i mean the crew practically grew old on screen. not to mention fat. From Season 1 till Season 3 i could swear seeing Shatner's stomach getting bigger. Nonetheless, i cant use air time as an excuse to like the old crew better~

I guess now i know why people like antiques. Its true that Cris and Zach do HAVE on screen chemistry though, we were only showed very minimal fun.. a lot of feud and arguements. Entertaining, but not that healthy. What made Start Trek TOS[The Original Series] so fun to watch, despite is decrepit technology and rediuclously un-deadly gluegun-like phasors, was because the characters were very very well played, and well developed. Back then they didnt have graphics[ie.blinding light that shooshes pass the screen every 4.3 seconds] to camoflauge the actors flaws. All they had was raw nerve, and tallent.. and a really hot alien dude.. You know, the still confused young Spock was a little grumpier than the older one. Maybe its the eyebrows. Somehow, the original crew seem more endearing, with Spock less cranky and Captain Kirk kicking more asses.. instead of getting his kicked ALL the time.

I do adore Zachary Quinto, but somehow, i prefer Nimoy as Spock. The ultimate forbidden fruit, that's what makes him so hot haha. My brother says i only like him cause of his pointed ears.. which is partially true, but the way his character was written.. i think that kind of charm is what makes Leonard Nimoy a legend.
